goodbye

why is that so painful to say goodbye this time
i thougjht i could handle it pretty well
but i realized it's not true
the trip is right on and
it's the night you will take off
I almost beg if time could fly slowly
coz we never know what will maintain the same afterward
so please treasure this rainy night
Just remember to say goodbye...

A song i used to sing

Raymond Gehman Bare branches and red maple leaves growing alongside the highway Photographic PrintI try to sing a song, a song i used to sing
Somehow I hardly remember any word of it
The melody is playing in the ears , quietly and blurry,
And seems ready to come out but still hard to be hummed
Busy doing other things I gave up recalling it
The melody kept playing even in my dream
That cant be a nightmare yet might be annoying
Does it matter if the song I couldn't sing?
I have no idea, or , maybe it does indeed
Because it was filled with all my memory.
The first time I sang it was when I got my first ginkgo leaf
The first time I sang it was in that beautiful summer
But somehow anyhow
I hardly remember any word of it
There is a song I used to sing
A song filled with my ginkgo leaves.

what is ginkgo?

my friends who've visited my space here asked me what ginkgo is?

Ginkgo biloba is one of the most unique trees on the planet today. This fascinating tree is dioecious:  male and female flowers grow on different trees. The Ginkgo hasn't been found growing in the wild but it has been preserved as a sacred tree in Chinese temple gardens since ancient times. The Ginkgo tree is also called the Maidenhair Tree because its leaves closely resemble those of the Maidenhair Fern.
Ginkgo tree was discovered in China in 1690 by Kaempfer who wrote the first scientific description of this tree. He suggested the Ginkgo name. This name is derived from the Chinese YIN , silver, and HING , apricot, in reference to appearance of the fruit. Ginkgo trees grow well in the city, being able to tolerate city dust and pollution. It isn't usually vulnerable to fungi, insects or damaged by storms.

ok, now you guys know what ginkgo is. hehe

(thanks Art, you found me this paper about my tree.)

First Page- Muomuo's Ginkgo Leaf

"have you ever seen ginkgo leaves?""Dreams Do Come True" Print

"no, what's that?"
"ok, i will bring you some next time!"
"promise?"
"promise! "

after that, I always tried to pick ginkgo leaves with nicer shape after school,
in Queens, there are a lot of ginkgo trees everywhere,
different seasons dye the leaves with different colors
spring is light green, summer is fresh green, fall is golden yellow, winter is redish brown.
I enjoyed every seasons with them, especailly during the fall, the golden leaves covered the streets, and reflected the sunshine, we walked through this golden street
"this one is the best on the street! "
"wow, this one is so pretty!" I still keep the leaf in my bible.

Ginkgo leaves, my leaves, have the elegant shapes,
my butterflies, on the ginkgo trees, stay in my NY dream.
opening my bible, I took the leaf out and back,
the smiles, the sunshines, the colors, and memory,
do you still remember? my ginkgo leaf...
